Blue Lava Clothing is a brand of Blue Lava, Inc., based in Santa Clara, California. This policy covers bluelavaclothing.com, our checkout, our emails, and our customer service. Our store is hosted by Shopify.
What We Collect
When you visit our site, place an order, or create an account, we may collect:
- Name and contact info (email, phone, shipping and billing address)
- Payment information (processed securely by Shopify Payments, including Apple Pay and Google Pay, or by PayPal — we never see or store your full card number)
- Account details (your email address — you sign in with a one-time code or with Shop, so we never see or store a password)
- Order history and preferences
- Device and browser information (IP address, browser type, operating system)
- Browsing behavior on our site (pages and products viewed, items added to your cart, time on site, referral source)
- Information you choose to give us (product reviews and photos, messages to us, survey responses)
How We Use It
We use your information to:

- Advertising cookies and pixels: Help us show and measure our ads (Meta Pixel for Facebook and Instagram; Google tags for Google's shopping and ad services, including YouTube)
Third parties, including Meta and Google, may use cookies, web beacons, and similar technologies to collect or receive information from our site and elsewhere on the internet, and use that information to provide measurement services and target ads. They may receive details of your visit and your order, such as products viewed and bought, and a coded (hashed) version of your email address or phone number to match orders to ads. To opt out of ad targeting on our site, use the Your privacy choices link at the bottom of any page. To opt out of interest-based ads from many companies at once, visit the Digital Advertising Alliance opt-out page. You can also manage ads in your Facebook and Instagram settings and in Google's My Ad Center, and you can block or delete cookies in your browser settings, but some site features may not work properly.
Do Not Track and Global Privacy Control. Our site doesn't change how it works when your browser sends a "Do Not Track" signal, because there's no common standard for it. If your browser sends a Global Privacy Control (GPC) signal, we treat it as a request to opt out of the sale or sharing of your information in the states where we offer that opt-out.
Third-Party Services
We share information with companies that help us run our business. They may use it only to do that work for us, except where noted:
- Shopify (ecommerce platform, hosting, payment processing, and customer chat; Shopify also uses some information for its own purposes, described below)
- PayPal (payments, if you choose PayPal)
- UPS (shipping, delivery, and return labels)
- Judge.me (product reviews and review-request emails)
- Tracktor (order tracking)
- Google Workspace (our email)
- Other apps that run parts of our store, like order-email templates and size charts, which get only what they need to work
- Meta (Facebook and Instagram advertising) and Google (Google Analytics, and Google's shopping and ad services, including YouTube), which also use information for their own purposes, as described in Cookies & Tracking
If we add new services, we'll update this list.
We don't sell your personal information for money. But some state privacy laws treat sharing information with advertising partners like Meta and Google, so they can show you ads on other sites, as a "sale" or "sharing" of personal information. You can opt out of that at any time (see Your Privacy Choices & Rights below).
Shopify. Our store runs on Shopify, which collects and processes your information to run our store and also uses some of it for its own purposes, such as improving its services and providing personalization and ad targeting. Email & SMS Marketing
We only send marketing emails if you've opted in — either through our email signup, at checkout, or through your account. Every marketing email includes an unsubscribe link. You can opt out at any time.
We don't currently send SMS marketing. If we add SMS in the future, we'll get your explicit consent first.
Data Security
We take reasonable measures to protect your information. Our site is hosted on Shopify, which uses industry-standard encryption (SSL/TLS) to protect data in transit. Payment processing is PCI-DSS compliant through Shopify Payments.
No system is 100% secure. While we do our best, we can't guarantee absolute security.
Your Privacy Choices & Rights
You have the right to:
- Know what personal information we've collected about you, and get a copy
- Correct information that's wrong
- Request deletion of your personal information
- Opt out of the sale or sharing of your personal information, including for targeted advertising
- Not be discriminated against for exercising your privacy rights
Some of these rights come from state laws, like California's. We honor them for all our customers, wherever you live.
To opt out of the sale or sharing of your information, use the Your privacy choices link at the bottom of any page of our site, turn on Global Privacy Control in your browser, or email us.

Children's Privacy
We do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under the age of 13. If you believe a child under 13 has provided us with personal information, contact us and we'll delete it promptly. We don't knowingly sell or share the personal information of anyone under 16.
Data Retention
We keep your personal data for as long as necessary to fulfill the purposes described in this policy, comply with legal obligations, and resolve disputes. If you request deletion, we'll remove your data unless we're legally required to retain it.
Changes to This Policy
We may update this privacy policy from time to time. Changes take effect when posted to this page, and we'll update the date below. We'll notify you of significant changes via email if we have your contact information.
